2026 Michigan Realtors® District Director Elections

Candidates

District Candidate
3

  Mike VanderWoude, Grand Rapids

My real estate career has been a great blessing in my life, and I care deeply for this industry, the clients we serve, and my fellow Realtor® members, along with association staff and support. As part of this journey, I have been encouraged over the years to pursue volunteer leadership opportunities, first at my local board (GRAR), progressing to have served 2024-2025 as your District 3 Michigan Realtors® Director. I am seeking re-election for a final term in 2026-2027.

Strong volunteer leadership requires professionals that are engaged, paying attention, and able to discuss potentially complex matters with other members, and staff. I have taken great pride in keeping my fingers on the pulse of the issues facing the real estate industry, and I have a near perfect attendance and participation record in serving in a progression of these roles over the last 10 years. Furthermore, I'm proud to be a resident and property owner in the City of Grand Rapids, in West Michigan, and I hope to continue to be an ambassador for this area. I appreciate your support in choosing me for another 2-year term as Michigan Realtors® Director in District 3.

  Heather Davis, Holland

With years of experience in real estate, I have dedicated my career to helping individuals and families achieve the dream of homeownership while working to strengthen our industry at every level.

My leadership journey has been shaped through active service with the Women’s Council of Realtors®, where I have held roles at local, state, and national levels. Additionally, I have proudly represented our profession through ongoing involvement with the National Association of Realtors®, advocating for policies and resources that empower both Realtors® and the communities we serve. These experiences have deepened my commitment to collaboration, advocacy, and innovation in our industry. Real estate is not just my career—it is my passion and my legacy. I raised my daughters in this business, and through it, they learned the value of hard work, integrity, and the joy of serving others. I believe our industry is about more than buying and selling—it is about creating opportunities, building stronger communities, and helping families build lasting foundations.

As District Director, I will bring a strong voice, proven leadership, and a heart for service to represent our members and ensure that Michigan Realtors® continues to thrive.

Brooke Brock, Trenton

As a third-generation Realtor® and Broker/Owner of BBR Realty, a boutique real estate firm in the Downriver area, I am seeking the role of District Director because I believe deeply in the power of ethical leadership, mentorship, and advocacy in shaping the future of our industry.

I’ve spent my career building relationships that matter — not just with clients, but with fellow Realtors®, community leaders, and aspiring professionals, both in and out of the field. I understand the unique challenges our members face across all markets, and I’m committed to representing the voices of both large and small brokerages with fairness, transparency, and integrity.

I currently hold the positions as a Director for the SEBAR Board of Directors, the MLS Board of Directors, several committees, and our settlement task force.

What sets me apart is my boots-on-the-ground perspective and my passion for raising the bar. Whether it’s through education, professional development, or legislative engagement, I believe our association thrives when we equip Realtors® to lead with confidence and character. I’m not running to have a title — I’m running to do the work.

This role is about service, not status. I may not come from the largest market, but I bring heart, hustle, and a clear understanding of what it takes to be an effective, present, and principled leader.

I would be honored to represent our district and ensure every member, from every corner of our region, has a seat at the table.

I am a past president of the Greater Metropolitan Association of Realtors® (GMAR) and have proudly held various leadership roles throughout my career, including past president of WCR 275. Penny Tarwacki, Trenton

With a legacy of service that includes two terms as President of my local association, being honored as Realtor® of the Year, and chairing nearly every major committee, I’ve consistently worked to elevate the growth, professionalism, and integrity of our industry. This deep commitment has prepared me to serve on the Michigan Realtors® Board of Directors with proven leadership, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for advancing our profession across the state.

I’m a dedicated real estate broker, educator, and industry leader with over 35 years of experience serving Michigan’s real estate community. I’ve been licensed since 1988 and became a broker in 1992, building my career on mentoring new agents, advocating for fair housing, and strengthening the Realtor® profession through education and leadership.

I co-founded Red Carpet Keim in Monroe, later transitioned to Southgate, and eventually served as branch manager in Allen Park. I also led the Viking School of Real Estate for more than a decade, where I helped train and inspire hundreds of new professionals. Today, I continue mentoring agents at Real Estate One.

I’ve served on the board of my local associations—DRAR and SEBAR—for over 15 years, held the position of President twice, and was honored as Realtor® of the Year in both 2015 and 2023. I’ve chaired key committees on Fair Housing, Professional Development, and Legislative issues. I’m also proud to serve as the current President and founding member of the Monroe-Wayne Network of the Women’s Council of Realtors®.

At the state level, I’ve been a committed convention attendee for over 25 years, a Crystal R RPAC investor for more than a decade, and currently serve on the Fair Housing Committee. I also actively support several charitable organizations, including those serving veterans, children, and families in need.

I’m honored to run for District 6 Director for Michigan Realtors®. I’m ready to serve with experience, collaboration, and a deep passion for our profession.

  Todd Waller, Ann Arbor

For more than two decades, I’ve had the privilege of serving buyers, sellers, and fellow Realtors® across Michigan. Along the way, I’ve learned this profession isn’t about transactions—it’s about relationships, trust, and the quiet, consistent work that earns both.

That’s why I’m running.

Our industry is facing rapid change. From policy shifts to technological disruption, there’s no shortage of noise. What we need now are leaders who can cut through it - with clarity, with integrity, and with real-world experience. I believe in action over rhetoric. That’s what I bring to the table.

As Chair of the Public Policy Committee and a Trustee for RPAC, I’ve had the honor of advocating on behalf of Michigan Realtors® at the state level. As a practitioner and brokerage leader, I see firsthand what our members need to thrive. I’m not here to theorize. I’m here to represent - to listen, to translate complex issues, and to ensure our association remains grounded in the needs of its members.

I’m deeply invested in protecting the future of this profession and the value we bring to our clients and communities. I believe that starts with ethical leadership, strategic advocacy, and meaningful education for every Realtor®.

If you believe in leveling up our profession - not just talking about it - I’d be honored to earn your vote.
