Dave Bos has always loved a challenge. When former
MAR CEO Dennis Koons decided to create public policy field positions,
Bos was the first in line to sign up.
“I had the opportunity to make the public policy field director position
what it is today, and it was fun to do that,” Bos said. “Communication
between MAR and the locals has never been better.”
It’s that need for a challenge that’s leading Bos away from MAR at
the end of June.
“Dave has been a great asset to MAR. His contributions will be missed,
and we wish him well in his new endeavors,” MAR CEO Bill Martin said.
Instead of educating members about land use and legislation,
Bos will now educate doctors about drugs that lower cholesterol
and blood pressure.
Kyle Olson starts as the new western Michigan public policy
field director Monday, June 21. Olson previously worked for Sen.
Gerald Van Woerkom (R-Norton
Shores),
and was political action manager for MAR in 2001 and 2002.

After 13 years as an appraiser for
the state of Michigan tax commission, David Maturen SR/WA decided
it was time for a change. In 1987, he entered the real estate
business and has been an active participant in it ever since.
On June 8, 2004, Maturen was elected chair of the State Board
of Real Estate
Appraisers.
“
I am very pleased to be able to serve as chairman and contribute whatever I can
to the profession as well as the citizens of the state of Michigan,” Maturen
said.
Maturen is a certified general appraiser and the owner of Maturen & Associates
Inc. in Portage. Maturen was appointed to the board in 1998 by former Gov.
John Engler. He was appointed again in 2001 and served as vice
chair last year.
This is not the first time Maturen has taken on an administrative
role. He served as a township trustee for Brady Township in Kalamazoo
and is
currently
on the
Kalamazoo County Board of Commissioners. |
