MAR and MSU Extension offer free educational brochures

Program seeks to educate buyers on proper septic system management

In cooperation with Michigan State University Extension, the Michigan Association of REALTORS® is now offering members free Managing Your Septic System educational brochures for distribution to clients.

The brochures were designed to educate buyers at the time of closing on a home about the importance of properly maintaining and caring for their septic system to avoid costly future repairs, system replacement, and harm to the environment.

The free brochures also include explanations of how the septic tank and drainfield systems work, recommendations on how to prolong the life of the system, and space to record maintenance history.
