Doug Whitehouse: Today REALTORS® must stand together to represent the Homeowners of this country and our fellow members. As REALTORS® we have helped build the American Dream for many and we must continue for those who have not realized their dreams. As Chair of the Business Issues and a member of the Public Policy Coordinating Committee this next year I pledge my best efforts to do just that. I would appreciate your support in helping me to do that as your NAR Director.
Doug served as the 2005 President of the Michigan Association of REALTORS®. He holds the REALTOR® Alumni of The University of Michigan (RAM), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Certified Internet Real Estate Professional (e-Pro) and Certified Residential Broker (CRB) designations. Doug was recognized as REALTOR® of the Year by his local association in 1994-1995, Women’s Council of REALTORS® Chapter Member of the Year 2006 and has served as a director of several local associations and was Chairman of the Board of the Regional Multiply Listing Service. Doug works together as a team with his wife Kathie, as a part of Hannett, Wilson & Whitehouse LLC, REALTORS® which services the south east Michigan area around Detroit. Before becoming REALTORS® Doug and Kathie were part of a food processing company known as Whitehouse Products, which created the non-dairy industry by creating the first commercially available non-dairy whipped topping made from soybeans. During their leisure time they enjoy boating on all of the Great Lakes from Chicago to the Canadian North Channel to Put-In-Bay in Lake Erie. If not on their boat you might see them on a Harley enjoying a ride with either of their children on their motorcycles.

Sam Baki: I have enjoyed my time as a volunteer worker at all levels of the REALTOR® associations. The position on the MAR Board of Directors provides me with another opportunity to use my extensive real estate background, combine it with the opinions of those I serve, and assist the REALTOR® association to be a better advocate for our industry.
Education, land use, political involvement and advocacy are only a few of the areas that we can improve, especially in the challenging market we are living through.
