The Michigan Association of REALTORS® has a goal for its members. It challenges all REALTORS®, who are leaders in a culturally diverse real estate environment, to rise to the challenge and provide creative and innovative solutions that would diversify the real estate environment. To achieve this mission, MAR has a comprehensive strategy to break down barriers of homeownership.

STRATEGY	• Promote fair housing “best practices” and training • Serve as membership clearing house for information on fair housing and diversity issue • Provide fair housing and diversity tools and training
GOAL	REALTORS® leading community-based efforts to foster fair housing and diversity.
STRATEGY	• Promote fair housing and diversity to the public • Build coalitions with community and government organizations to promote common goals • Provide membership with resources to build partnerships with local fair housing organizations
GOAL	REALTORS® known in minority communities for their commitment to fair housing and diversity.
STRATEGY	• Increase the relevance of the association and its members in minority communities • Build relationships through outreach to ethnic organizations • Support statewide events that promote REALTORS® importance to homeownership
GOAL	Professional opportunities available for minorities in the real estate industry.
STRATEGY	• Address the business and political issues faced by minority members • Provide a networking venue for minority members and members working in culturally diverse communities • Assist minorities in overcoming barriers to careers in real estate
