As a guy who is constantly striving to learn and grow, it's almost guaranteed that several times a year I will meet another broker who is crushing it using some new bit of innovation, or by seeing something I hadn't. I wonder who I'll learn from at Broker Summit this year.

Thanks everyone for having me back as your MAR Director for District 2 the most beautiful district in the state. This years Achieve conference will be held on our side of the state, in Kalamazoo, on February 16th-17th. If you've got an interest in developing your leadership skills and taking a role in the future of your association and your industry, this event should be on your agenda. It seems as though Winter eloped from West Michigan as Spring burst on the scene in West Michigan. And, it's not just the weather. Real Estate activity is heating up with low interest rates, reduced inventory levels and stabilization in housing prices. It's wonderful to talk to so many who are happy to be busy again!
With the MAR Broker Summit coming up soon, (April 25 at the Detroit Sheraton Metro Airport) it's a great time to retool and reconnect with fellow Brokers. Today, more than ever networking & education is important. It was great to see many of you at the Achieve Conference and hope that you will able to put the Broker Summit on your calendar schedule.

Hello Again to all District 8 Membership!
It’s hard to believe, but the first quarter of 2012 is nearly behind us! I hope your year has started out on a positive note and you are on track to achieve the goals you’ve set for yourself! It’s not too late for any ‘course corrections’ if they’re needed. By many accounts, this year is shaping up to be the best we’ve had in the last several and it’s important to take advantage of the market momentum in your area as the industry continues to bounce back!

Most REALTORS® have the “potential” to become good, if not great salespeople. What stops them? Generally two things: 1) Not learning how to sell using proven scripts, dialogues and techniques; 2) The inability to “believe in themselves” in becoming a productive, profitable REALTOR®. The biggest challenge is always remembering that “people have lived before you.” Don’t try to be creative and re-invent the wheel, but rather listen to the advice that experienced REALTORS® are willing to share. Find success in the models others provide and then apply creative thinking. Those models will be shared with you at the MAR Broker Summit, April 25th at the Sheraton Detroit Metro Airport.
