I have attended National conventions since 2004 and Mid Year meetings since 2006. I have volunteered for the Habitat for Humanity projects at National Convention in New Orleans, Las Vegas, San Francisco and Orlando.
Representing the 1st District takes a commitment to the job. District 1 covers 31 counties from northern Bay County through all the Upper Peninsula. I have tried to visit the various Boards within the District. I have met with members in the UP, Eastern UP, Alpena, Emmet and Water Wonderland as well as my local association. I have tried to listen to their concerns and take those back to the MAR for discussion. Northern Michigan needs not just someone to represent us but we need a voice that is unafraid to speak up and share our concerns.
I feel education for our members should be our #1 priority. “Excellence through Education and Ethics” has been my theme and the goal I have set for myself and my colleagues. I would pledge to you to do my best to fulfill the role as your Director.
