My name is Jason Copeman and I am an independent broker from Marquette in the Great UP!!! Before saying anything about myself, I want to offer a big thank you to Elaine Schraudt and Mary Rockwell for their numerous contributions to the Michigan Association of REALTORS and their dedication to making certain our District 1 has had a strong voice in Lansing. Thank you.
I was first licensed in 1992 and by 1994 was beginning my journey with the Upper Peninsula Association of REALTORS (UPAR). I have served on the Board of Directors for UPAR since 1994. I started as an appointed Director and worked my way up to President. I have twice been nominated as our REALTOR of the Year and I currently serve as our Vice President with a strong intention of being the UPAR President once again in 2013-2014(our Presidents serve two year terms).
Over the years I have been a Representative and sometimes Chairperson of our local MLS Committee on which I currently serve, I have traveled to Lansing on numerous occasions as a member of the Michigan Association of REALTORS MLS Task Force and it's follow up meetings, I have made a commitment to be at the Achieve Conferences, I have made a commitment to be at the Michigan Association of REALTORS Annual Conventions, I am a Michigan Land Use Academy alumni, and have traveled to various state meetings when called on to share the voice of Northern Michigan. I am also currently the Chairperson of the Upper Peninsula Association of REALTORS Data Sharing and Cooperative Research Committee to pursue and promote ways to build stronger REALTOR relationships and cooperation. There is strength in numbers.
I am running for the position of Director for District 1 to further my commitment to and involvement with the Michigan Association of REALTORS. I have a strong voice when it comes to promoting and representing the REALTOR prerogative. I look forward for the opportunity to serve at the state level and to share my ideas and strengths for the benefits of all my fellow REALTORS, especially those in District 1. I have long held the belief it is the REALTOR Association that has allowed us all the opportunity to work well together, look good in the eye of the public, and to pursue the fruits our hard work and dedication to this industry provides. We do well by helping others. Thank you.
