2010 Michigan General Election - Thanks for Making Your Voice Heard!!
Congratulations on surviving this year’s election! The path after November 2nd is paved with victories and disappointments. With openings in almost all major seats of Michigan government, including Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, all 110 state House seats and 38 Senate seats, voters had heavy sway in how Michigan will move forward and with whom.
November’s ballot served up one of the most memorable election cycles in Michigan’s history. Voter turn out was high, resulting in significant change on the state and federal levels. Elections, like any contest, create definite winners and losers. The Republicans garnered supermajority status in the Senate (26-12) and reclaimed Majority in the House (63-47). RPAC was 100% successful in backing all 38 candidates running for Senate, and had an 90% success rate backing candidates who will now be in the state House next year.
For now, attack ads, robo calls, and campaign literature are quickly fading from memory. The new 2011 legislative year is sure to bring focus on the specific platforms that candidates ran their campaigns on. The Michigan Association of REALTORS® will continue to keep up the fight for the real estate industry, while working with those who align with our organization’s values, regardless of party lines.
