New at Convention this year: RPAC “Pop-A-Shot” Basketball Tournament

Have you ever dreamed of playing in the NCAA’s “Sweet Sixteen” tournament? Now is your chance to shine! New to Convention this year is the RPAC “Pop-A-Shot” Basketball Tournament! The tournament replaces the putting challenge this year. It offers a new, but fun challenge to get members involved in RPAC!

Stop by booths 74 and 75 anytime during the Expo to try your luck for a chance to advance to the “Sweet Sixteen” championship for a chance to win diamond jewelry! The “Sweet Sixteen” championship will be held during the Royale on Thursday evening starting at 8:00pm.

Member participation in the MAR RPAC Silent Auction and the new Basketball Tournament are key to helping RPAC succeed in protecting the real estate industry. Each contribution goes to fighting for REALTOR® causes at the federal, state, and local levels of government. It also helps to secure those in the legislature who will fight for real estate industry concerns and continue to support REALTOR® initiatives. In addition, it’s an easy way to get involved in RPAC and your shooting skills may reap a fantastic reward in the process! If you still need to register for this year’s convention, please visit our website at http://www.mirealtors.com/

Customer Service Week Quickly Approaching!

Customer Service Week is October 5 – October 9, 2009. MAR is ending its’ 2009 Convention & Expo with nationally renowned customer service speaker, Nancy Friedman. Friedman’s session “How to be an Island of Excellence in an Ocean of Mediocrity” is being held Friday, October 9, 9:00 am at the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa.

The session helps you evaluate your customer service skills. Knowing where you fall in the customer service arena compared to where you need to be is normally an eye opening experience. Did you know?

FACT: 8 out of 10 people who won’t be doing business with you ever again, won’t tell you that. They just go away.

FACT: 8 out of 10 people will tell 11 others how bad you are.

FACT: 1 out of 10 will tell others how good you are.

Ya just gotta work smarter!

The Telephone Doctor’s 10 Point Self-Assessment Quiz helps you evaluate your current situation and identify the gap between where you are in the Customer Service arena and where you need to be. After you take the quiz, Nancy covers some of the 10 points covered on the quiz and gives you solid information you can apply immediately to improve your communication skills and connect better with your clients, friends and family.
