New competition to encourage Local Leadership RPAC Participation
The MAR is pleased to announce a new RPAC award to encourage leadership participation in RPAC investing! All local Board of Directors members are challenged to be 100% investors in RPAC. This new, annual award challenge is designed to encourage RPAC involvement by leaders within local associations.
By challenging local Board of Directors members to contribute to RPAC, it shows local association members that investing in the future of the real estate profession is critical. As you already know, RPAC is the real estate industry’s insurance in the fight to keep our industry free of cumbersome regulations, harmful tax burdens, and to protect private property rights. By being involved in RPAC, local Board members are making a statement not only to their membership, but to other associations as well that they believe in RPAC and the protection and promotion of home ownership in Michigan.
It is important to note that there is no required contribution amount for this award, only 100% participation from each Board of Director member at their respective local association. The award will be unveiled at next year’s Achieve conference in January. Leadership is the process of enlisting the help of people to work toward a common goal. Please accept the 100% RPAC participation challenge!

A team of Association Executives from around the state met on Friday, May 1 to lay the groundwork for regional forums and to continue implementation of the Michigan initiative. Pearl and MAR Welcomes New Regional Director
Pearl Insurance is pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Spomer as your new Pearl Regional Director. He is taking over this territory from Lisa Scoble, allowing her to devote more times to her duties as Vice President, National Sales Manager.
Steve has been the Regional Director for Pearl’s Midwest territory since joining the company in 2007, and brings with him a wealth of real estate experience and expertise. He has been licensed in the state of Illinois as a real estate broker for over 15 years and worked for the nation’s largest home warranty company for five years before joining Pearl. Throughout his career, Steve has gained distinct knowledge of the real estate industry, including an understanding of the major issues real estate brokers face daily. He believes that customer service and communication are the most important facets of his work, and he finds his extensive real estate background most rewarding when explaining coverage options to his loyal Errors & Omissions Insurance customers.
