Lawrence Yun

Lawrence Yun is Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of Research at the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®. He oversees and is responsible for a wide range of research activity for the association including NAR’s Existing Home Sales statistics, Affordability Index, and Home Buyers and Sellers Profile Report. He regularly provides commentary on real estate market trends for its 1 million REALTOR® members.


Dr. Yun creates NAR’s forecasts and participates in many economic forecasting panels, among them the Blue Chip Council and the Harvard University Industrial Economist Council. He appears regularly on financial news outlets, is a frequent speaker at real estate conferences throughout the United States, and has testified before Congress. Dr. Yun appears often as a guest on CSPAN’s Washington Journal and is a regular guest columnist on the Forbes website.

Dr. Yun received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland at College Park.

Marki Lemons-Ryhal

With 25 years of marketing experience, Marki Lemons-Ryhal a fifth generation entrepreneur, third generation restaurateur and first generation infopreneur has established herself as an award winning social media speaker and course author. In a market where change is the only constant factor, Marki’s has used her dynamic, professional attitude and vast experience to become one of the top speakers in the country relying on content from one of the fifteen classes she has authored. By consistently offering sound industry analysis and professional guidance, Marki’s expertise has been featured in The Chicago Tribune, Chicago Agent Magazine, Forbes, REALTOR® Magazine and has also been included on CBS News Chicago and CNBC. In 2010 Marki was named the Illinois Real Estate Educator of the Year. Marki began her career in education in 1993 and currently works as a speaker and coach, teaching social media and technology classes for the National Association of REALTORS®, CHASE, Goldman Sachs 10k Small Businesses, REALOGY, and Chicago City Colleges. Marki resides in Bronzeville with her husband Stephen and their two sons Skyler and Austin. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Chicago State University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Saint Xavier University.

Brad Ward

Brad has been with Michigan Realtors® since 2001 and is a lobbyist for the association involved in all legislative issues at the state level. He is the principal staff person for the Public Policy Committee and  RPAC trustees. Brad completed his undergraduate education at Michigan State University and received his law degree from Wayne State University. He formerly served as a Legislative Aide to Representative Nancy Cassis.

Brian Westrin

Brian Westrin is Director of Public Policy & Legal Affairs for the Michigan Realtors®. He helps facilitate both the Public Policy Committee & Legal Action Committee. He regularly presents on legal and policy issues, often working directly with local associations on emerging concerns. Brian is a graduate of Louisiana State University and Michigan State University College of Law.

Mark Allen

Bio: Mark Allen is vice president of association industry relations for Move, Inc., a leading provider of online real estate services and the operator of realtor.com® and its related mobile experiences.


In his key role on the Move industry relations team, Allen works with state and local Realtor® associations and MLSs to help further strengthen Move’s ongoing dialogue and ensure that Move continues to deliver unparalleled service that directly speaks to the needs of associations and members. 


Allen previously served as chief executive officer for the Minneapolis Area Association of Realtors® and for 10K Research & Marketing, LLC, and prior to that was a managing partner for Counselor Realty. He also served as the 2013 chairperson of the National Association of Realtors® Association Executives Committee, promoting association management and professional development among association executives. Most recently, he provided strategic counseling for Realtor® associations, MLSs and technology and data companies as owner of RedShift Consulting.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in political science and speech communications from St. Cloud State University.


Michael Bass

Bio: Born and raised in northern Ohio, I moved to the Grand Rapids area after graduating from Ohio State University. I spent my first few years building and remodeling homes. In 1983 I was licensed as a Realtor® and went to work with a local firm. In 1986 I received my Brokers license and opened my own real estate company. In 1990 I sold my business and joined Greenridge Realty, Inc. In 2000 I moved up to become V.P. of Sales. As part of the leadership of one of West Michigan’s largest real estate firms I am dedicated to improving and growing our real estate brokerage company, as well as protecting private property rights, encouraging high ethical standards, and promoting our industry. I am currently Associate Broker and V.P. of Compliance with Greenridge Realty and hold the G.R.I., and CRB designations. I have been a member in good standing with the Grand Rapids Association of Realtors® (GRAR) for 34 years. I have served on the GRAR Board of Directors, and am a Past President of GRAR. I have served on the Michigan Realtors® Board of Directors as well, and have been honored as local GRAR Realtor® of the Year.



Greg Carlson

Bio: Greg started in real estate in 1978. Greg feels fortunate to have been affiliated with a Large Independent broker (Westdale Realty), small local brokers (TRC Realty), Large Franchisors (Re/Max), all prior to founding Five Star Real Estate in Jan 1996. Greg believes all of which contributed to the foundations and principals that Five Star Real Estate is built on. Five Star has grown from 3 agents in 1996 to currently 433 agents in 2017. Five Star Real Estate LLC is the highest producing brokerage for transaction sides closed in the Grand Rapids and surrounding marketplaces. Five Star closed over 6300 transaction sides and over 1 Billion in volume in 2017. Greg founded Star Title Agency LLC in 2001. Star Title had 2900 closings in 2017.

Tom Cronkright

Bio: Thomas W. Cronkright II is a founding member of Sun Title Agency and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. He is a licensed title producer in multiple states. Tom is an attorney admitted to practice in the State of Michigan and holds a real estate broker’s license. His primary responsibilities include marketing, strategic planning, business development, and oversight of the company’s commercial property division. 

Tom was previously an attorney in the business and corporate practice groups of Warner Norcross & Judd LLP and Miller, Canfield, Paddock & Stone, P.L.C. In 2004, Tom formed Corporate Advisors PLC, a private law firm that specializes in legal and corporate strategy services for businesses and business owners. Tom received his B.A. degree in finance from Western Michigan University and his law degree from Wayne State University.

Rebecca Keithley

Bio: Rebecca is a Supervisory Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Her focus is financial crimes.

Ben Latocke

Bio: Ben founded Production Realty in 2009 after the real estate firm that he worked for sadly closed its doors.  His company has grown from a small office with 6 agents to the largest non-franchised locally owned firm in the area.

Production Realty is a full service real estate firm. Their residential sales division is the most premier listing agency in town. His company offers the same marketing solutions that you would expect to find in a market much larger.

Scott Marcelle

Bio: Scott is a 17-year industry veteran of Real Estate Media & Tech, working to help large brokerages and national franchises streamline business efficiencies, increase agent productivity, and overall profitability. 

Scott joined Zillow Group’s Industry Relations group in 2016. In his current role, he works closely with stakeholders to understand the business needs of Zillow’s strategic partners and, in turn, help them uncover the options and solutions available to their business over the Zillow Group portfolio of consumer and business brands. When not traveling to meet with larger strategic partners and representing the company at many regional and national events, Scott most enjoys being home in the mountains of Colorado.

John Meesseman

Bio: John is the Broker of Real Living Kee Realty but his unofficial title is Chief Agent Happiness Officer. Real Living Kee Realty has been nationally awarded for its training department, company growth, and it’s 98% customer satisfaction. John strives to read 40 business or personal development books a year. He is the former Vice President of MCAR and past director of GMAR and is currently serving as Director of Mirealsource. John is super proud of his company’s charity work with Bravo Programs of America. He and his wife of 21 years, Debbie, have 3 teenage children. 

Lisa Scoble

Bio: Lisa Scoble is VP of program business and sales for Pearl Insurance. She has over 22 years of experience in the industry.

Kent Selders

Panel: Industry Disrupters


Bio: Kent is licensed as a real estate broker, appraiser, and builder and has worked extensively in all three fields. He was previously a vice president of a regional mortgage company.

After spending five years in the mortgage business advancing from a loan officer to the vice president of the company, Kent left to expand into other areas of real estate. He opened an appraisal company and a real estate brokerage. Since 2000, he has enjoyed great success in real estate. He has bought, renovated, and sold (i.e. flipped) over 400 houses. During this timeframe, he also developed raw land into platted subdivisions, appraised thousands of houses in West Michigan, owned and managed over 70 rental units and built spec homes.
